Like craft beers and windmills? Nothing says Holland more than drinking in a spinning vessel!

Brewery Het Ij (het EYE), is Amsterdam’s most famous local brewery (Even though it has Amsterdam roots, we're going to call Heineken a national brand). These guys have been making small batches of seasonal beers since 1985, and the place is populated by regular locals and knowledgeable travellers.

They have the standard blondes, tripels, darks, and the especially delicious IPA , coupled with an equally lekker design of a nude tattooed lady holding a bottle of IPA. Yes, they have merchandise.

If you want a proper tour, they give them Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3:30pm. it’s only €4,50 and includes one beer. Reservations not accepted. Sign up in person from 2pm. If you want a private tour, that can be had on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3:00pm for €60 if you book it in advance. Email for private tours.

The bar is open daily from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Yes it closes surprisingly at 8:00.
